          Verdict

          Another very tricky handicap and a chance is taken with Mac's Elan, with Meelup and Shergael also expected to run well. Shergael as you would expect is from the family of Shergar, and it would be no surprise to see improved form from this one now he is handicapped. Mac's Elan finished second to today's rival Meelup when they met at Warwick recently. That was over today's trip on similar ground. Meelup came out on top by a length and a half and there is no weight pull today. However Mac's Elan had to come from some way off the pace and did well to take runners up spot. If he is closer to the pace this afternoon he should be capable of reversing that form. Of the others Band can be expected to improve on his seasonal debut, however Mac's Elan's form looks very solid and he gets the verdict.
