    Verdict

With both Galpiat Du Mesnil and Hopbine withdrawn at Uttoxeter over the weekend on account of the ground, there must be doubts about them here. The winner of the Cambridgeshire back in 1996, Clifton Fox has only seen the racecourse five times since then. He made his first appearance for three years at Kempton last month and understandably got tired. He should strip fitter here, but whether this may come a little quick for him one cannot be sure. Another to return from almost as long on the sidelines is Indulge, who showed a little ability over both hurdles and fences before going wrong. Whether he retains his ability we shall have to wait and see. One who will not mind conditions and comes here fit is Mrs Pickles. She has more to do off this 10lbs higher mark than when successful here last month, but there are no doubts about her and she is taken to add to her tally.
