In depth

Verdict

My Sweet Georgia and Lesley's Choice rate the form picks but are unlikely to represent much in the way of value so we'll take a chance with Hollow Green. My Sweet Georgia appeals as the likeliest winner of this contest following a fair run at Windsor where she looked in need of today's extra distance; she's likely to be sent off at prohibitive odds. Lesley's Choice has shown ability but looks opposable here and may find his niche in nurseries. Gallagher was made favourite to win the maiden won by the impressive Orizaba and is clearly well thought of; the form looks solid and he can be expected to step up on that effort. Join Up ran well for a long way in a fair Nottingham maiden and is another potential improver whilst Conaky and Piazza San Pietro are a pair of newcomers to bear in mind. The selection is speculative to say the least but David Evans' filly did shape with a degree of promise at Windsor despite being very green in the early stages of the race. She ran on with some promise once the penny dropped so this extra furlong should be in her favour and she'll know what's required of her now. The form has worked out fairly well, the yard continues in good form and Hollow Green may prove capable of providing us with a big run at a big price.
