Richard Newland will find a race or two for Le Patriote judged on his first run for the yard at Kempton but OUR MERLIN (NAP) lost nothing in defeat behind the smart Call Me Lord at Sandown after rattling up a hat-trick. He’s gone up another 4lb but is obviously much improved and may be the one to beat in this. Better ground would have suited Huntsman Son but Eddiemaurice ran well behind an improver at Kempton and Remiluc has been knocking on the door. Recent winners Clondaw Castle and Litterale Ci are definitely worth a second look with more to come while Dino Velvet has faced some tough tasks since winning as a novice last season and reverting to 2m is a plus. Zaidiyn will have needed the run at Wetherby and is back on a winning mark so looks best of the rest.
