In depth

Verdict

Wilfred, Avesomeofthat and Waltzing Beau are three against the field in this competitive novices hurdle and the confident vote goes to Wilfred. The selection has been in top form of late and won well last time out when defeating Moorlaw, that form has since been franked and despite his penalty he will be hard to beat if he copes with this softer ground. Avesomeofthat rates the main danger on his latest second behind Garnet. That was only his second run so he still has plenty of room for improvement and will not be far away. Waltzing Beau is another worthy of respect he won well on his debut when beating Son Of Greek Myth but that was over three miles and the drop to the minimum trip is not sure to suit so he is passed over on this occasion. Tell The Trees won well on his debut but was disappointing behind Salut Saint Cloud last time and that form has since been let down. Of the remainder Courant d'Air won well last time out but that was a poor race and he will need to improve significantly to defeat the selection Wilfred.
