Verdict

Ballyhome has been raised 10lb for winning at Wetherby and Irish raider Aasleagh Dawn is effectively 12lb higher having scored at Navan a week ago while compatriot Offshore Oscar is helped by a conditional’s 10lb allowance. Hurricane Dylan landed a novice hurdle at Uttoxeter and goes handicapping for the first time along with The Dellercheckout, who has undergone wind surgery since last in action, but Utility only won a seller at Stratford and will find this tougher. David Pipe and Nicky Henderson have won this three times each in the last 10 years and the former’s Vaniteux is preferred to stablemate Three Star General while the latter runs Follow The Bear, who ran well for a long way at Aintree last month. Unblinking and Palmers Hill could go well but MAX FORTE won at Exeter before running well again behind The Mighty Don in a higher grade hurdle over 3m here last month and it’s Chris Down’s charge that gets a speculative vote to make another bold bid in a wide-open contest.
