Game Lad, Jubilee Street and Rafferty are the three for the shortlist here and Tim Easterby¿s Game Lad is the selection. Jubilee Street has won his last two at Beverley and Redcar and must be respected but those wins were on fast ground and he may not be seen to such good effect on this softer surface. Rafferty won well at Wolverhampton last time but he seems to reserve his best efforts for an all-weather surface and his wins to runs ratio is poor. Commando Scott will go well on this soft ground but Game Lad won well at Musselburgh last time. He had earlier been placed at Ripon and Pontefract so was not winning out of turn. The yard is going well and Game Lad gets the vote.

Imperialistic (IRE) 16-1 (9-0) Held up towards rear, headway over 2f out, edged left over 1f out, ran on well inside final furlong, 3rd of 14, 1 1/2l behind Game Lad (9-2) at Musselburgh 7f hcp 0-60 (4) gd.
