In depth

Verdict

Random Call, Irelands Cross and Wee Charlie Castle are the three to consider here and preference is for the Sir Michael Stoute newcomer, Random Call. Irelands Cross looks sure to run his race. He has had the benefit of three previous runs and is consistent. He ran well to be a close fourth in an auction maiden race last time and looks sure to run his race here- if there are any deficiencies in the newcomer he may well take advantage. Wee Charlie Castle had also turned in some decent efforts, including a neck second in a similar race at Redcar before being raised in class at Doncaster where he was well beaten, and he failed to perform on the all-weather surface at Wolverhampton last time. The selection though is the well bred Random Call. The yard is in form and he seems to have been found a good opportunity here. Random Call, a son of War Chant, is the selection.
