Verdict

TOP TRIBUTE may be able to get the better of Eton Rifles and Somerset Falls. Tom Tate's Top Tribute is bred to be a sprinter but saw out a mile pretty well at Ripon when second to a hotpot from Castle Stables. It's early days for the form but it wouldn't appear as though he'd need to improve much on that to be a factor. Eton Rifles was quite well backed to win a poor race at Hamilton on his second start but lacked the pace to be competitive over six furlongs. This longer trip should enable him to show more but this looks stronger. Somerset Falls is respected but it was a shade disappointing that she didn't fare a little better on her reappearance and she may be worth opposing until proving that she's trained on. An eye should be kept on the market to see if there's any confidence behind any of the newcomers but top billing may go to Top Tribute.
