        Verdict

        Inheritor stepped up on his debut effort when chasing home Fastnet Storm at Beverley last month and has to be respected on that effort but Bryan Smart's colt is far from certain to handle the more testing conditions today and a better bet looks to be Solo Attempt, who gets the vote with Veronicas Boy rated the pick of the remainder. The selection races on a soft surface for the first time today, having run well on the Polytrack on his two previous starts but Marco Botti's colt is by soft ground influence Anabaa so he should not mind the conditions and he looks worth chancing. Richard Fahey's Digger Derek showed some promise on his debut over course and distance but is not certain to go on the ground so may be best watched, while Little Tokyo was well held on soft ground at Carlisle last time. Veronicas Boy opened his account on good to soft ground in a Hamilton maiden at the beginning of May but he only faced three rivals that day and has not reproduced a similar level of form since then so preference is for Solo Attempt in the hope that he handles the cut in the ground.
