Verdict

Capote will no doubt enjoy the wet weather but though Trevor Hemmings paid £75,000 for him after he'd won a maiden point-to-point at Tattersalls Farm in December that was a very poor event, even by maiden point standards. Mr Utah is progressing nicely and overcame a bad mistake three out to complete a double at Kelso. He has a double penalty to carry here and will do well to concede weight to I NEED GOLD. Donald McCain's charge, who scored between the flags in March, left his previous form behind when making all over this track and trip for a comprehensive victory on New Year's Day and should complete the double. Brae On finally got off the mark when tackling a marathon trip at Kelso so stamina won't be a problem and he'll enjoy the testing conditions.
