In depth

Verdict

Nurpur and Bountybeamadam have both had plenty of chances but still set the standard. Especially the former as he went close at York a fortnight ago but, given his apparent inability to get his head in front, he's worth taking on with the less-exposed SPIRAEA. The latter made a promising introduction at Salisbury last month and Mark Rimell's filly won't have to improve much on that to open her account. Birdie Queen and Lasaraleen are also lightly-raced but have shown little so far.
