        Verdict

        DOYLE CARTE, who easily won a bumper here in January, started odds-on for her hurdling debut at Musselburgh and never gave her supporters a moments concern. She'll be at short odds again but it's difficult to see what can prevent her completing the double. Phase Shift, who won a claimer on the Flat here in October, had no chance behind Balder Success on her hurdling bow at Haydock and will find this much less demanding while Vinetta showed a bit of promise in bumpers and is bred to be a decent hurdler. Brook Star may do best of the remainder.
