In depth

Verdict

Rehearsal was easily the best of these on the flat and is taken to make a winning debut over hurdles with Dont Call Me Derek and Bollin Annabel rated the main dangers. The selection only won the once on the level for Clive Cox from admittedly limited opportunities, landing a maiden at Newmarket's Craven meeting, but ran some decent races in defeat in better company subsequently and is sure to have been well schooled by new handler Len Lungo. Dont Call Me Derek won a middle distance handicap at Bath off a mark of 74 when last seen on the level and is an interesting runner on his debut over hurdles. Former Henry Cecil inmate Aspara did not show much on his first start for George Moore but may improve for the outing at Musselburgh and it may be too soon to write him off, while Nounou showed improved form at Southwell last time and is another worthy of a mention. Bollin Annabel has a penalty to carry for her win at Haydock and may struggle off level weights against her male rivals, while Coming Again has been highly tried in two starts so far over hurdles and this represents a drop in class. Rehearsal is a potentially decent recruit to the juvenile novice hurdling ranks and he gets the vote.
