In depth

Verdict

It’s understandable that Allbarnone runs here rather than at Uttoxeter as Gary Hanmer’s 11-year-old has a fine record on the track. Melody Of Scotland will need to improve again to complete the hat-trick but is preferred to Bhutan, who runs in the same colours, and Boruma, who has gone up 10lb for a recent course and distance victory. Farmer Boy has been running well since returning from a lay-off and a hood could aid further improvement while Buster Edwards gets headgear for the first time. SECRET ESCAPE appeared much improved in blinkers when beating stable companion Wazowski at Bangor. There might be more to come from the mare upped in trip and she can defy a 6lb rise.
