Verdict

This is a hot contest for the track and time of year. Three of these ran in the Swinton Hurdle at Haydock. Project Bluebook fared best, overtaking John Constable on the run-in to finish second. Dino Velvet wasn’t beaten far in sixth and is better off at the weights. The latter’s trainer, Alan King, also has strong claims with Newton Abbot runner-up Passing Call, who will have her ground. Donald McCain is another trainer who is double-handed and CONSTANCIO produced a career-best at Stratford at the start of the month. If he avoids a battle for the lead here, the six-year-old could be worth sticking with. Stablemate Nayati has won two of his last three while Magna Cartor arrives on a hat-trick. Altruism, Tonto's Spirit and Wells De Lune are all course specialists but Manamite and Warwick winner Mystic Sky make more appeal on this occasion.
