    Verdict

Alrida must have a great chance of improving on what in the context of this race was a decent effort at Market Rasen in March and landing this from Belcaro, Sailor A'Hoy and Haile Selassie. The selection made his hurdling debut at Market Rasen and pleased with his technique, though he was comfortably beaten by Valeureux on that occasion. Presumably he was kept back to preserve his novice status thereafter and he will be fresh and ready to step up on that effort to win this modest affair. Belcaro would have a chance on his defeat of Halland at Taunton last month, but he has struggled in three attempts since and looks best watched until finding some more form. Martin Mullineaux's Sailor A'Hoy has already put together a couple of decent performances in defeats this month and is not going to find this any easier to win having gone up 7lb for his latest reversal, so he is just overlooked, while Haile Selassie has place claims himself and will like the ground, but looks to be a shade one paced. For the selection then, we will take Alrida to score.
