In depth

Verdict

Milson's Point can gain the day over Caravel, with Ducal Pip Squeak and Palmetto Point also worth a mention. The selection has been second on each of his last two starts, including at Hamilton last time when he ran out of steam over a mile. The drop back to seven furlongs will suit, and he is taken to get the losses back. Caravel looks a typical Sir Mark Prescott individual, but the handicapper has not perhaps been as lenient on this one, and he may be worth taking on. Ducal Pip Squeak hails from a yard doing quite well now, and despite topweight, he can go close again , having run a blinder in defeat last time. Palmetto Point hung under pressure when beaten on the turf course at Lingfield, so is another to mention as he drops back in trip slightly. Having weighed up the pros and cons, we return to Milson's Point as the answer.
