Verdict

KATACHENKO has gone close on a couple of occasions since winning at Wetherby in October. His latest second to Baltimore Rock at Doncaster may prove stronger form than the victory of De Bene Esse at Exeter. The latter beat only one rival on that occasion though that was Southfield Vic, rated 145, and well beaten subsequently. Captain Hox also faced one opponent at Ayr last time but only as far as the first fence when Fairytale Theatre fell and Patrick Griffin's charge was left to come home on his own. Tomorrow's Legend went close at Sedgefield before returning a losing favourite at Catterick.
