Verdict

Brian Baugh's Avonlini ran much better at Catterick last month and would have claims if able to build further on that effort but preference is for RYEDANE, who gets the verdict ahead of Lake Chini. Mick Easterby's gelding got the better of Fasliyanne, who runs in the 4.15 race, and he has to be respected despite having been raised 5lbs for that run but he may have to settle for a place at best today. Richard Whitaker's Wotatomboy won well enough at Southwell two starts ago but struggled off his new mark on a return visit to the track last time and may do so back on turf, while Chris Fairhurst's Red River Boy has had some help from the handicapper but probably needs some more. The vote then goes the way of Tim Easterby's Ryedane, who has won his last two starts here and at Beverley and he can complete the hat-trick.
