        Verdict

        Those near the top of the handicap have solid form in the book but relatively unexposed sorts lurk beneath and a chance is taken with ICE SKATE. Tim Easterby's filly, 1lb out of the handicap, receives plenty of weight all round and hasn't been beaten at all far in nursery company the last twice. Like most here, she's unproven on heavy ground but her light weight should aid her cause in testing conditions. Auckland Lodge appeals most of those to the head of the weights having scored over course and distance and Harrison Shaw claims an increasingly useful 5lb. Mecca's Hot Steps seems solid here and also note Constitutional on nursery debut after a gelding operation.
