Verdict

Cut Ridge, Joshua's Gold, Apache Point and Dubonai are four against the field in a competitive handicap and the vote is given to Cut Ridge. The selection has been in good form and although she was a little disappointing last time, she had ran a blinder previously when narrowly beaten by Pretty Kool at Folkestone. The winner that day was the subject of a Stuart Williams gamble and as she was only just beaten she has to be given a great chance here if her latest run can be forgiven. Joshua's Gold ran well when second behind Saros last time and is a consistent sort who is sure to run his race again. However, he has only ever won one race and although he should make the frame he may find at least one too good. Apache Point is a fair sort who is dropped in trip, but he is better over further and unless the market speaks in his favour he looks opposable. Dubonai won well last time over a longer trip and there is nothing to suggest this drop in trip will suit, and under a penalty he looks worth taking on. This is a tricky race for punters to call but for the winner we return to Cut Ridge.
