In depth

Verdict

An uninspiring contest and low stakes are advised in a race full of moderate performers but Kahyasi Princess hails from an in-form yard and may prove the pick ahead of Young Owen and Double Blade. Mark Johnston's charge displayed some ability in maidens behind useful sorts earlier in the season and may have found conditions too testing when running below expectations on her handicap debut last time. Still relatively lightly raced, the three-year-old may be open to a little further progress and this represents a significant drop in grade. Young Owen is closely matched with the selection on Hamilton maiden form last month but Richard Fahey's gelding ran as though something was amiss last time and can't be backed with confidence at present. Double Blade has proved a useful performer at this level down the years but has been below his best this term, including over timber, and looks vulnerable to a less exposed rivals.
