Verdict

A race for horses that would struggle outside this grade in a larger field can go to Parkside Pursuit, who has at least held his form well and already holds Hard To Catch and Compton Banker on recent efforts. Whereas Delegate, at the age of eleven, is a little long in the tooth to be anticipating improvement from and, even though well treated on much of his past form, will do well to confirm recent form with the selection. Parkside Pursuit was blocked in a run on two occasions when they met at Bath and Ryan Moore, who has been successful on the gelding already in the past, is unlikely to take any chances today. The course is a little bit of an imponderable for the Milton Bradley-trained six-year-old. But he is at an age where a change of scenery may be just what he needs and he can make only his second ever visit to Brighton a winning one if he stays out of trouble today. Coranglais has the look of a typically well handicapped horse to bear in mind for something like an apprentice race and he is best watched today. Unlike his stablemate, Parkside Pursuit, who can strike again whilst he is in the right frame of mind.
