        Verdict

Tokewanna, Doringo and Bundaberg will fight out this opener with the vote going to the last named. Bundaberg was slowly away at Hamilton before staying on to finish a creditable second to Bessemer. He looked eyecatching that day and if reproducing the same level of form he will prove difficult to beat. Doringo was only beaten two lengths by Edge Fund over a mile round here last time out and did not get the best of runs either. With a furlong less to cover today and without traffic problems he can be a danger to the selection. Tokewanna is another to look out for in the market as his latest run at Carlisle was decent and he is sure to be thereabouts again today. However for the winner we return to Bundaberg.
