Verdict

It will be interesting to see how the market shapes up for Mahmood Al Zarooni's Anabaa Blue filly Surprise on her debut and the yard has done well with their juveniles this term but SONORAN SANDS has shown a decent level of form and looks the one to beat with the main danger rated as Cinq Heavens. Tom Dascombe's colt stepped up from his Wolverhampton debut when a close sixth in a Warwick maiden last month, form on which he has solid claims. Mick Channon's Pigeon Hollow was tailed off on his Salisbury debut last month and is surely better than he showed that day but is hard to back with any confidence after that run, while stable companion Smart Red needs to step up on form shown in maidens at Doncaster and Chester if he is to take a hand in the finish. The vote then goes the way of Stan Moore's Sonoran Sands, who was highly tried but not disgraced in the Windsor Castle Stakes on his second start before running a decent second to Colorado Gold in an auction maiden at Leicester last month, form on which he looks the one to beat.
