Verdict

In an open maiden to start with COTTON SPIRIT has improved in two starts so should progress again so he has the vote with Diamond Geezah possibly setting the standard and Next Edition is also a danger after a nice debut effort. The pick ran better than the bare result suggested on debut and vastly improved on that next time up. Richard Fahey remains in form and with this step up in trip likely to suit we side with the colt. Diamond Geezah looks the standard setter on the basis of his four outings but after taking a step backward on his last run others make more appeal. Howard Johnson has had plenty of success with his runners on the flat this season so after finding just the one too good on debut Next Edition has to be high on the list with improvement expected. Little Miss Take ran her best race when upped to this test last time so if building on that should go close but Cotton Spirit has looked progressive and should improve again to score.
