      Verdict

With his first classic success behind him at the Curragh on Sunday, Charles Hills will be on a high and Dairam looks certain to go close though he's been caught in the closing stages on his last two runs and this is a very stiff climb to the finish. Defendant hasn't been beaten far in strong maidens at Windsor and Doncaster and with progress likely will be fancied to take this for the Stoute camp. However, ORBISON, who was well beaten in the latter of those races, couldn't produce his form as his saddle slipped. He was travelling well at the time and he was only a length behind the selection at Windsor so looks the value to get off the mark. Adiator, who ran in a bumper last month, almost made all over 7f at Redcar last week and should go well.
