Verdict

This appears the trickier of the two divisions with Basil The Great fielding the main form of note after his one-paced third on the Fibresand recently. Binky Blue made late progress in a modest Redcar auction maiden too but expect to see a newcomer take the spoils. Ythan Waters and Johnny B Goode both represent first crop sires, Hellvelyn and Approve, and are of interest whilst POMME DE TERRE is a son of Hughie Morrison's July Cup winner, Sakhee's Secret. The latter has made a fine start to his stud career and Michael Dods' colt is a hopeful choice to add to the tally. Kylach Me If U Can is a colt bred for speed and a strong debut effort from the Kevin Ryan newcomer is anticipated.
