Verdict

It was a soft race that Havantadoubt won at Goodwood last time so the vote goes to Beauchamp Ribbon, who gets the verdict over Kristal Dancer. The last mentioned ran well over this trip at Sandown last time and has to be respected on that evidence but John Dunlop's stable continues to struggle to find winners so Beauchamp Ribbon looks a safer option. Gerard Butler's filly has gone up a further 2lbs for her latest second over a mile at Chepstow but should be better served by the extra two furlongs today and looks worth a bet. Havantadoubt has more to do under a 7lb penalty for being able to dominate in a small field at Good wood last time and there are others that appeal more. Pekan Lady and Ellovamul come from stable sin good form at present and cannot be discounted, while the booking of Jamie Spencer for Rich Dancer takes the eye but we are happy to side with Beauchamp Ribbon, who has solid claims.
