Verdict

Child Bride initially held a Super Sprint entry, which is little surprise given her speedy pedigree, and her winning debut at Yarmouth represents solid enough form with the second now rated 81. There should be further progress to come and this trip is set to suit Paul Cole's filly so she must be respected, but the standard is set by PENNY'S PEARL and she's selected. Richard Hannon's charge made a winning debut herself before coming unstuck in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot and has since been tried over further. She is bred to sprint though so this drop in distance is seen as a positive and, while her rating of 90 may be a shade high, it does indicate she should have too much class for these. Nordic Spruce showed good speed when upped in class following a taking debut success but ultimately disappointed last time and needs to improve for a slightly easier test but that's entirely possible and she completes the shortlist of three in an interesting start to the card, although if maiden Button Moon is at her very best she could surprise now her sights have been lowered slightly.
