Verdict

Only If I Laugh should have gained confidence from his recent Wolverhampton success and is recommended ahead of Emeradia and Baytown Shamrock. Only If I Laugh only had to be pushed out by Frankie Dettori to score in a similar success at Wolverhampton last Monday afternoon and that should have acted as a nice confidence booster for Brian Meehan's charge. With Kieren Fallon on board this afternoon, there will be no quarter given from the saddle. Emeradia would have been the selection had we not seen a below par effort at Beverley last time out. There appeared to be few excuses for it on the day and even though David Evans team are in form and the horse has finished close up to useful performers Bachelor of Arts and Cotosol; it is very difficult to forget that poor run. Baytown Shamrock has had many many chances. He seemed to find seven furlongs too far at Yarmouth and he now returns back to five after a little break. He handles fast ground and could be there to pick up if any of the market principals fluff their lines. Task Trump looks to have plenty of stamina on the dam side of her pedigree and is certainly worth watching in the market. Trainer, Jamie Osborne has had a 28% strike rate with his fillies and the market will speak as to whether this will add to that figure. Justastrop is a Daggers Drawn filly that heads here from a yard not afraid to have a tilt at the ring. Similar comments apply. Red Renegade and Moonstone Myth look hard to fancy on all racecourse evidence. Therefore we will stick with Only If I Laugh in the hope that confidence has been gleamed from last week's Wolverhampton success.
