      Verdict

This appears to be a straight match between Rill and Arbella and we will side with the last named. Walter Swinburn's filly put in some fine efforts in defeat last season, including a close; up fourth behind Maids Causeway in the Sweet Solero Stakes at Newmarket. She may have been in need of her seasonal return at York and we could see a much improved performance this afternoon. Rill showed plenty of promise on her only juvenile outing, finishing a close up fourth behind the Godolphin runner Sharaiji Blossom in a hot maiden at Nottingham. She has been given plenty of time to mature by her talented trainer and can be expected to put up a good fight. Trials 'n Tribs should be the best of the remainder but shouldn't trouble the two principles and the pick of the duo is Arbella.
