Verdict

Youm Jamil's supporters will be running out of patience and Brian Meehan's charge is taken on with LINNENS STAR with Aattash the only other realistic contender. Youm Jamil has 5lbs in hand on official figures from Aattash despite disappointing connections at Chester when stepped up to ten furlongs. The trip didn't look to be the problem that day as he was never travelling so reverting to a mile is neither here nor there and he has something to prove now but his earlier efforts do stack up well. Aattash is certainly vulnerable as he has less scope for improvement than his rivals after nine career starts and, whilst he might be on the premises, it will be disappointing if he's good enough to win this. Therefore, we'll look to the in-form Ralph Beckett's runner following the promise of his debut at Newmarket. He was a shade too keen on that occasion but faces nothing of the quality of Afsare in this line-up and Linnens Star is fancied to take advantage. (Ian Ogg)
