Verdict

Avonvalley and Pherousa have to be feared but they may find that LUCKY FLYER can outgun them here. Malcolm Saunders has his string in great form with five winners from just nine runners in the past fortnight and that is the principal point of interest for Avonvalley who has been struggling this year but has, at least, dropped to a nice mark. Pherousa won her maiden over course and distance and comes here on the back of two sound runs but looks vulnerable to something with more scope and we have Lucky Flyer in that category. The lightly raced filly cut little ice in a competitive handicap at York on her second start of the season but ran well at Goodwood last time when possibly a shade unfortunate and is fancied to make amends. Picnic Party has plenty of pace but hasn't learnt to settle and has been struggling to last home whilst Tom Folan may just need to come down another couple of pounds in the weights before she's winning again. The pacy True Red should help to make this a thorough test but is unlikely to break her duck as we look to Lucky Flyer.
