In depth

Verdict

Another potentially informative novices' hurdle in which Donald McCain is double-handed. Pampanito couldn't match the pace of Hazy Tom in a bumper here in April but the winner is turning out to be useful. Stable jockey Jason Maguire prefers The Weatherman, however, who bolted up in a Kelso bumper last month and looks highly progressive. But we're loathe to desert PECKHAMECHO, who is also still heading in the right direction. He carries a penalty for his smooth win at Ffos Las but Aodhagan Conlon's claim negates most of that and he should be followed until beaten. Zahirah Moon went close a couple of times in bumpers but faces a tough task on her hurdling debut.
