        Verdict

        Kenny The Captain was only beaten a neck on his belated reappearance at Redcar. Royal Residence looks a threat to all on his neck second at Haydock and My Name Is Rio is another who found only one too good last time at Thirsk. DESERT FROST has a welter burden to shoulder but came up against an improver at Hamilton at the start of the month and this lightly-raced sort can go one better today ahead of in-form course specialist Tommy G as long as conditions don’t turn soft. Militia won a maiden at Thirsk in May but was beaten seven lengths on his handicap debut at Ripon a few weeks later.
