In depth

Verdict

This is not a particularly good contest but it is still competitive and what can only be a tentative vote goes to Topaz Lady, who is taken to give weight away all round and gets the vote ahead of Persian Prince and Stravaigin. The last mentioned is a rare runner under National Hunt rules for Jim Goldie but she showed promise when last seen in March and the yard's runners continue in good order. Ferdy Murphy's Greenock should improve for his reappearance run two weeks ago but needs to, while Named At Dinner is a consistent performer but may again have to settle for minor honours. Double Ells ran better last time and is another to consider along with John Wade's lightly raced Persian Prince. The Nicky Richards-trained Topaz Lady is less exposed than most and looks the one to be with judged by his most recent effort.
