Verdict

A competitive field goes to post for the big race of the day and many would have chances on their best form but the principals look to be Simply Supreme, Desaily, Granit d¿Estruval, Gunter McBride and Native Emperor and we will take a chance on Desaily. The selection has been in good form of late remains on a fair mark and a reproduction of his latest second behind Bee An Bee would see him go close. He is bred to appreciate this longer trip will not mind any more rain and he is sure to get the strong gallop which he needs to be seen at his best. Simply Supreme rates the main danger as he is officially six pounds well in and he won well last time out when defeating L¿Aventura. However he is a keen sort and it remains to be seen if he is as effective at this trip. Granit d¿Estruval won the Irish equivalent in good style when defeating Marcus Du Berlais. But his best form is going right handed and he had a hard race only five days ago and he looks opposable for those reasons. Gunter McBride is another worthy of respect he is on a fair mark and has been laid out for the race. He was a fair fifth behind Lord Of The River last time and would have definite place claims but any more rain would hinder his chance as his best efforts are in fast ground. Native Emperor is another with a fine chance he won well at Cheltenham last time when defeating Celestial Gold and will like the trip but he is prone to the odd error and that might just find him out here. Grey Abbey loves this track and this bold jumping front runner is sure to run his race but he looks weighted up to the hilt and is passed over on this occasion. Stormez has been freshened up for this and the fact that Tony McCoy has selected him from the Martin Pipe Entrants speaks for its self. Of the light weights Tipsy Mouse won well at Kelso last time when defeating Robbo and that form has since been franked he could run well at a fair price, while Mister Banjo is another that could go well off what looks a fair mark if her sees out the trip but in an interesting race for the winner we return to Desaily.
