Tabaret showed improved form when landing a similar contest at York last month but has a penalty for that success to contend with now and preference is for Golden Acer, who is taken to reverse Ripon form with Playful. The last mentioned landed a conditions race at the Yorkshire venue by a length-and-three-quarters from the selection but Ralph Beckett's filly made the most of the best of the draw that day, while Golden Acer was worst drawn of all in stall nine and Richard Hannon's colt, who is progressing along the right lines, can reverse that form. Mick Easterby's Bow Bridge has claims on official BHB ratings but her rating is all down to a possibly flattering finishing position in the Queen Mary. Smooch seemed not to handle the soft ground last time and may be of more interest back on a faster surface, while Campbelltown could be of interest dropping back in trip. Danjet is becoming rather exposed, while The Thrifty Bear needs to improve again to trouble the selection Golden Acer.
