In depth

Verdict

An open contest that can go to Jolika, who represents a yard that know plenty about the Laird's Entry, who can pose the biggest danger today. Reivers Moon and Ideal Du Bois Beury are others that have claims on the best of their efforts and can make a good fist of things today. The latter did not really progress as expected when he was with Martin Pipe but has proved himself capable at this sort of level. He is weighted to be thereabouts with the selection and holds each-way claims today. Reivers Moon has been in good form lately and should again run his race. However, he might just find this trip is on the sharp side and, as he lacks a turn of foot, he may have to settle for a minor role today. The Laird's Entry has a good record from his completed starts and has handled this track well in the past. He will be better suited to this drop in trip but as he has never looked the most natural of chasers others make more appeal. None more so than Jolika, who was doing all his best work at the finish when winning here last month and he is expected to be very hard to master over his most appropriate trip today.
