In depth

Verdict

A low-key finale can go to Donald McCain's RHYTON, who stepped up on earlier efforts when dropped in grade at Wetherby last month. Only a four-year-old, the Rainbow Quest gelding probably has a bit more scope than his rivals. Kings Guard was put up 6lb after winning over a longer trip at Newcastle but should still be competitive here, while Sandy Forster's mare See The Legend has hinted at ability on occasions and could reward each-way support. Emirate Isle won at Sedgefield in the autumn but was pulled up over this C&D 12 days ago in a race in which Daniel's Dream finished fifth.
