        Verdict

        NORTH CENTRAL, successful over 6f at Catterick last month, is a deserving top weight in this very modest handicap and can regain the winning thread. Jim Goldie's gelding found only Hot Rod Mamma too good over this trip at the North Yorkshire track five days ago and is in much better form than his rivals. Drive Home is less exposed but failed to build on his Musselburgh win at the same track last time, while Shunkawakhan has struggled off higher marks since winning over C&D in May. The others make very little appeal.
