Verdict

EQUULEUS PICTOR certainly wasn't winning out of turn at Southwell last week. Quicker conditions here are a bit of concern but John Spearing's seven-year-old, who has plenty of early pace, won't be inconvenienced by the drop in distance and can defy his penalty. Magical Speedfit hasn't managed a win here in eight previous visits but races off the same mark as when successful at Brighton in May and makes more appeal than the disappointing Cruise Tothelimit and Even Bolder, who is on a long losing run.
