In depth

Verdict

Mick Slates and REGAL ACCLAIM finished one-two last time in a 7f Doncaster handicap but, although it's a close call, the Tim Easterby gelding is taken to reverse placings on revised terms, especially as he already has winning form on the forecast soft ground. Mick Slates is on the upgrade though and is likely to prove a tough nut to crack if handling the ground on which he's yet to perform with any real distinction. Pelican Rock appears to be in the handicapper's grip so Balti's Sister looks a likelier contender now reverting to a more suitable trip after an abortive attempt over the minimum trip last time.
