CARSON CITY (NAP) was a major eye-catcher on debut when only going down by a head to the more experienced Orewa at Beverley. He failed to go one better when decisively beaten at Chester next time but his running style seems sure to be suited to this more conventional track than the idiosyncrasies of the Roodeye - he is well worth another chance. Town Charter also shaped with distinct promise on debut when runner-up over this trip at Carlisle and rates the prime danger with Mark Johnston's juveniles continuing to perform effectively. Ocean Princess showed enough on debut to be of interest and Kevin Ryan's Midaawi, a son of Kodiac, rates the most interesting newcomer on paper.
