Samurai Way deserves to win a race and he could be the answer to this Listed contest; Geordieland and Distinction rate as the main dangers. The selection has finished second on each of his last three starts but he progressive and there was plenty to like about the way he chased home Regal Flush at Haydock last time. He is sure to give a good account of himself today and he looks the value call. Geordieland has become a frustrating horse to follow as he travels like a dream in his races but finds nothing off the bridle. It is two years now since he last won a race and although he is eased in grade, he is hard to recommend with confidence. Distinction finished behind Geordieland at Doncaster last time and his best hope of reversing the form would be if the rain arrived as he does handle plenty of cut in the ground. New Guineas ran a blinder in a handicap at Doncaster when chasing home Galactic Star. That was his first run in over a year so there should be more to come, but this trip is an unknown for him and he is probably best watched. Samurai Way is on the upgrade and he can land the prize.
