Verdict

An open looking opener with Beechside nominated as the likely winner ahead of Jojesse, Princess Ellis and Put It On The Card. The selection reverts to handicapping after a confidence-boosting maiden win at Newcastle last time and should definitely be better for that success. She stuck on gamely there and will need those gutsy qualities if she is to follow up here. Jojesse has been knocking on the door in handicaps like this and did pick up a couple of modest events in the spring. It would be no surprise to see him go well. Princess Ellis is another who has been going well of late without winning. She has been competitive from higher marks than this and her chance is taken seriously. Put It On The Card won a couple of all weather claimers in the winter and has not been seen since flopping at Catterick in April. His general level of form has been decent enough in context and if he is over whatever problems he had then he can go well. Copper Dock looks perhaps best of the rest but our vote is with Beechside.
