Verdict

The Tin Man won this in 2016 and arrives in fine form having landed the Group 1 Sprint Cup at Haydock in testing ground. He narrowly beat Brando that day with Donjuan Triumphant, Sands Of Mali, Harry Angel, Tasleet and Sir Dancealot all further behind and it would be no surprise if James Fanshawe’s charge came out best once again. But he was beaten, along with several of the above, in last year’s renewal by LIBRISA BREEZE. The latter has his ground for the first time since landing this prize and Dean Ivory’s sprinter may prove a bit of value today given his failure to win so far this season. Harry Angel is a dual Group 1 winner but has developed an aversion to the starting stalls of late while Limato has been winning lower grade contests and beat Projection at Newmarket before the latter won a Group 3 here with Dream Of Dreams not far behind. Son Of Rest went close in a Group 1 sprint over 5f at the Curragh before landing the Ayr Gold Cup but this is tougher.
