Psychomodo should take all the beating here unless Earth Crystal or Pharanto prove to be out of the ordinary. Brendan Powell's gelding won over course and distance in November before failing to defy his penalty at Exeter. Time may tell that he was facing an impossible task that day in trying to concede 12lbs to Lodge Lane. The winner went on to beat impressive Leamington Hurdle winner Carruthers next time and the form looks rock solid. Providing that his Sandown fall hasn't affected his confidence it's hard to look beyond him. Earth Crystal failed to win a point in Ireland but was well regarded whilst stablemate Pharanto, winner of a Towcester bumper, should also be able to make his mark over hurdles. Overclear and Alternator rate mentions but have plenty to find on the book and clear preference is for Psychomodo.
